Relocation Information-Buying a House
Recently a group of people, that had moved more than 5 times, completed a survey regarding their advice on buying a house in a new area.
Their number one strategy is to pick the best location. For example, a great house at a great price in close proximity to a busy expressway could be nothing but a series of headaches.
One of those surveyed, Randy, thought he got a great deal buying a home backing up to a 4 lane expressway. There was a berm, a double planting of 15 foot evergreens between the house and the roadway. In three years he planted more trees, and triple glazed his windows. In face of this the traffic kept increasing and his discomfort grew. Water in a glass on the table had whitecaps when the bigger trucks speed by on the expressway. His great deal turned in a great big nightmare.
Susan, on the other hand, found a new home on a cul-de-sac in a new subdivision. There was dirt everywhere, construction traffic and pot holes made getting in and out of the subdivision a challenge. However, now two years later, the construction is over, the roads paved, and grass and trees have been planted. Consequently her home has appreciated in value greater than other homes in the same vicinity.
The participants all agreed, look for location, study the location and determine what the location will look like down the road. Construction activity, zoning changes and other similar events can have a profound negative impact on what you initially thought was an ideal location.
More on this subject next time. In the meantime for more relocation information the site to go to is www.relocationideas.com.
